The homestead is truly a perfect mix of period features with modern luxury and services you will enjoy. With large outdoor timber decking, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, reverse cycle heating and cooling, games, and floodlit tennis court. You will feel completely relaxed while experiencing the most tranquil environment, perfect for your wedding day.

HISTORY

Tecnevin was the second property to be constructed in the area in 1859, it became the home to the daughter of the first Shoreham settlers Honora Byrnes and her husband Edmund Riley.

The original home stood where today the tennis court is. The current homestead was built in 1930, by Major McGregor Knox, he built Tecnevin as his summer house, after time the Major returned to Scotland and the house was sold. During world war II, Tecnevin was a dairy and taken over to supply the armed forces with milk.

By 1950 an extension was added to the main house, and the home has recently undergone a renovation. The cottage was built in the 1880’s and has recently been extended and refurbished.

Today the estate is renowned as a stunning venue for various events, wedding ceremonies, receptions and DIY dinners and accommodation stays.

A beloved estate with the old homestead located in the eastern paddock that was featured in the series McLeod’s Daughters. 

SPACES

Guests are introduced to our sweeping driveway and ample parking as soon as they enter the gate.  Weave your way through our grounds to our spectacular elm tree. Our grounds are 4 acres of colourful cottage gardens, highlighted by picturesque valley views from our 120 sqm ceremony platform.  Dine under the moonlight on our rustic 5.3m cypress pine table, built from the pine trees of our very property.  Spend the evening together in our romantic historic single bedroom cottage, or join your crew in our three bedroom guesthouse.

STAY

 The Main Home comprises large open plan living, kitchen to dining boasting a large open fireplace, two queen bedrooms, master with ensuite, a third bedroom features two single beds, a luxury bathroom, with bath and a separate WC. The home has a beautiful sunroom complete with lounge and day lounge to rest, soak up the sun and read a book. The Cottage is set not far from the main home and comprises one a queen size bedroom with bathroom, a separate living area with a gorgeous kitchenette.

With reverse cycle heating and cooling, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, laundry facilities, books and games and a flood lit tennis court you’ll want to stay longer.
